Members of Penarth’s popular Paget Rooms Monday Tea Dance Club are now waltzing, fox-trotting and swinging to the accompaniment of a brilliant new sound system  – thanks to the generosity of the Wales’s biggest building society, the Principality.

The building society has just presented the club with a brand new sound system to replace its faltering Victor-Sylvester-era equipment.

Roger Bennett from the Paget Rooms Monday Tea Dance, says,  “We are extremely grateful to Principality for providing us with our new sound system. Our old sound system was hard to hear and in need of replacing, but our new system is fantastic.”

Mr Bennet says the thriving Monday Tea-Dance Club draws members from all over Cardiff and beyond . The members find the sessions keep them fit, active and enables them all to enjoy the social aspects of dancing. The group of around 50 people meets every Monday from 14:00 to 16:30 at the Paget Rooms.

Some members even managed to persuade a few of the Principality staff to join them in tripping the light-fantastic on the dance-floor at “The Padge” –  who enjoyed it so much thyey’re coming back for more very soon.

One of them was Hayley Hunter, Principality’s Penarth branch manager, who says : “We were delighted to be able to help the Paget Rooms Monday Tea Dance and they certainly put us through our paces when we went along to the session. The group is very popular and is a fantastic way to support people’s health and wellbeing – through the dancing and companionship at the club.

Hayley says “At Principality we have always been at the heart of our communities and we hope that our support will help the club to continue to support people in the Penarth community.”

Who say’s that life is for the young.
I have never been to a Tee Dance myself but judging by the fun I must pop along.
I hope the sound system provided by the principality is not to loud as I can’t bear loud music and they have a proper license for it.
You could really loose yourself while waltzing around listening to perry coma or others like him. Remember to ware lose clothing to.
I hope the principality staff don’t try and sell you life insurance while they are dancing.
Good luck too them all I say.
