More than 200 members of various churches of Penarth took part today in the annual Good Friday procession through the town in the annual event organised by the interdenominational charity Cytun.

The symbolic cross was carried at the head of the procession by Christian Vaughan Morris who had performed the same task at last year’s ceremony.

In brilliant sunshine  the silent column set out from Arcot Street  and along Plassey St before turning to Glebe St and the town centre.

The route then led the congregation along Stanwell Road to  West House where the Mayor of Penarth Cllr Rosemary Cook welcomed worshippers and took part in an informal alfresco Easter service on the front lawn Penarth Town Council’s headquarters.

  5. Parcel says:

Don’t come to Newport expecting to take part, the muzzies stopped it. They got their own march past tho..
    Welcome to Wales, yakki akbar….

Is that true Mr Parcel? I doubt that- can’t be. Bonkers as religion may be surely we haven’t sunk that far as a country.
