Penarth’s new Town Mayor, Cllr Mike Cuddy, was involved in an emergency in Penarth’s Alexandra Park at the weekend.

Cllr Cuddy is understood to have gone  to the aid an elderly gentleman who had suffered a fall whilst out walking in the park.

The Mayor – who is now officially ‘First Citizen’ of Penarth and keeps fit by cycling and walking – summoned the emergency services and wheeled the casualty to a NHS ambulance for medical checks.

As already reported by PDN ( see http://tinyurl.com/hs943dp ) Cllr Cuddy was formally elected Mayor at the Penarth Town Council’s special Annual Meeting on Friday.
