PLEASURE SHIP ‘BALMORAL’ CANCELS SAILINGS FROM PENARTH

MV Balmoral began her schedule of sailing from Penarth on Sunday. Now there's a pause whilst engineering problems are resolved.

MV Balmoral only began her schedule of sailings from Penarth on Sunday. Now she’ll be out of action until the end of May because of engineering problems.

An “engineering issue” has forced the cancellation of Balmoral’s scheduled sailings from Penarth for the rest of May.

The Balmoral Trust and its subsidiary – which operates Balmoral – says  today’s trips to Ilfracombe & Lundy Island have been cancelled due to a technical issue and that sales of weekend Bristol Channel trips have been suspended pending further engineer assessment of the problem .

Meanwhile it’s been confirmed that all trips scheduled for Friday May 20th May from Clevedon, Penarth & Portishead have been cancelled. The firm has issued an apology to customers.

I hope it is not too serious, I was looking forward to my trip to Ilfracombe at the weekend.

The charity has worked hard to get the Balmoral sailing again, and can ill afford the loss of revenue from these cancelled cruises.
