The popular BBC “Bargain Hunt” programme is visiting Penarth today and will be filming a public auction at Rogers and Jones this morning.
Auctioneers Rogers and Jones are situated on the Llandough Trading Estate which is off Penarth Road ( turn left at the Porche garage roundabout and follow the signs to the Llandough Trading Estate) .
Yesterday afternoon the team was busy doing some preliminary filming before shooting the main auction action this morning. The items selected by the “Bargain Hunt” team will be probably coming up for sale within the first hour or so of trading – but the sale goes on all day
Making her first visit to Penarth is antiques expert Natasha Raskin who’s been working with Bargain Hunt since 2013.
Her day job is as pictures specialist, general valuer and auctioneer in Glasgow.
She specialises in Scottish Contemporary Art but has a wide knowledge of antiques thoroughly enjoys working with the contestants on the show all of whom are hoping to net a modest profit when their selections go under the hammer .
Today’s sale includes a massive collection of Hornby railway items, a Charles Eames chair & ottoman, pair of Robin Day chairs & valuable jewellery including “large diamonds”.
The auctioneers say “Please note that viewing of valuable items of jewellery maybe in a supervised secure area and photo I.D may be required.”
