The RAF display team the Red Arrows dodged round thunderstorms in the Bristol Channel  this afternoon and flew over Penarth at about 16:25 en route for Cardiff Airport.

Today’s Penarth “fly-past” was something of a surprise for local residents . At the weekend the Red Arrows had had to cancel a scheduled display at Barry for the second time running because of low cloud

Tomorrow the Red Arrows are taking part in the annual flying display at Weston Super Mare – and parking-up at Cardiff Airport overnight. Depending on the weather, it might be possible to see them in action over Weston  from Penarth tomorrow (Saturday) at 13:30 approx .

Just my luck-last week-end thought about going to Barry Island to see them-dodgy weather but all was not lost-down to the pier where the heavens opened right on cue-within 20 minutes weather was fine but arrows had cancelled!-also missed them today-thought-that is a strange sounding thunder clap!! There is always next time.
