Because of strong winds, Penarth RNLI’s big Atlantic 85 lifeboat was used today to respond to a Milford Haven Coastguard call to Sully Island.

People had been spotted on the island after the rising tide had covered the causeway which links the island to the mainland at low water.

The lifeboat crew found three men were still on the island . All three were  transferred to the mainland  where they were met on disembarking by  Penarth Coastguard officers who gave them safety advice. .
