Penarth’s lifeboats have been launched twice this afternoon on two different rescue missions.
The first launch of the day was just after 14:00. The D Class inshore lifeboat “Connie Dains” – the busiest lifeboat in Wales – set out to recover four adults cut off by the tide at Sully Island.
Whilst the lifeboat transferred the casualties to the mainland at Swanbridge, Penarth Coastguard searched the island to ensure there was no one else marooned on the island
There was then a second launch of both Penarth lifeboats at 17:00 hours to go to the aid of two people cut off by the incoming tide at Lavernock Point. Both casualties were recovered safely .
