Both Penarth lifeboats were launched tonight to go the aid of a disabled craft in the Bristol Channel.

The D Class lifeboat Connie Dains was launched just before 22:00 . The Atlantic 85 had been launched a little earlier.

It’s understood the casualty vessel had to be sandwiched between the two lifeboats before being brought safely into Cardiff Barrage by the D Class boat .
