Penarth Fire Fighters broke into the locked toilet to release the trapped man

Penarth’s Fire and Rescue had to force their way into the locked bathroom in a house in Cogan last night to free an occupant who found himself accidentally trapped in his own toilet.

The call was made at 22:27 last night. South Wales Fire and Rescue said the emergency was what is called a “gain an entry” assignment. The fire crew had to get into the house and then get into the locked toilet.

The man, who had not been able open the toilet door, had – according to one report –  summoned help by using his mobile phone. He was released from his predicament safe and well – says the fire service.
