The excursion ship “Balmoral” – now back from Scotland – is due to perform the final sailings of the 2016 season from Penarth Pier this weekend.
Balmoral has been carrying out a short season of sailings on the Clyde and had been was delayed on her return voyage from Scotland back to the Bristol Channel yesterday – which meant that scheduled day-time sailings had had to be cancelled.
However Balmoral did fulfill a scheduled evening “Jazz Cruise” which took her from Clevedon and Portishead under the Severn Bridge – now lit up for the bridge’s 50th anniversary. There was no call at Penarth.
Today Saturday October 1st , Balmoral is due to sail from Penarth Pier for Ilfracombe – departing at 10:30. The trip also offers an all day cruise of the Exmoor & Atlantic Coasts – for passengers who don’t wish to disembark at Ilfracombe,
Tomorrow, Sunday October 2nd Balmoral leaves Penarth at 09:30 to cruise the Holm Islands & Welsh Heritage Coast and across the channel to Clevedon – which will be her last cruise of the season.
