Station Approach Penarth – said to be the location of Saturday night’s violent incident.

A PDN source reports that diners in a local restaurant and customers at wine bar in Station Approach, Penarth were witnesses to a violent incident on Saturday night (Oct 1st 2016) in which there was an alleged “stabbing” outside Penarth railway station.

The report says that a “gang” of about 20 people accumulated outside the station after 21:00 hours on Saturday night and it was there that a “stabbing” or “slashing” incident occurred .

Another eyewitness – a  PDN poster – says (see post below) that “There were eventually 8 police vehicles in attendance”  and that “one young lad was arrested”.

South Wales Police said they had no reports to date of such an incident on their records at the police HQ in Bridgend, but the incident might have been dealt with by British Transport Police.

Police action will not have been helped by the dearth of live CCTV camera-coverage in Penarth . It’s understood none of the existing cameras in the town operated by the “Safer Vale Partnership”are functioning .(See PDN http://tinyurl.com/jolv5at )

  1. Richard Penn says:

I was in the Paramount when this incident took place and saw a melee outside the Bottle Shop involving a large number of youths and girls. There were eventually 8 police vehicles in attendance so it is amazing that the police seem to have no record of this. I saw no stabbing but one young lad was arrested and taken away for committing criminal damage.

  2. Christopher David says:

Safe Vale Partnership camera’s eh! They aught to get the speed camera merchants in. Eight police vehicles and no records!! Oh the reports are being held in camera.

  3. WOW we must have just missed this!!!
    hope nobody was hurt

  4. Sam says:

‘Nowhere more upwardly mobile than Penarth.’
