Opera star and Penarth resident Rebecca Evans is President of Penarth Arts and Crafts Ltd

Every ticket has been sold for an “inaugural presidential concert” starring the world-famous opera singer Rebecca Evans at Penarth Pier Pavilion on Friday October 7th.

It was announced last year that Ms Evans had accepted an invitation from the not-for-profit charitable company – Penarth Arts and Crafts Ltd (PACL) – to become the first President of the organisation,  but October 7th this year was the earliest date on which she was available to take part in an inaugural concert to celebrating the appointment .

Penarth Arts and Crafts (which holds the 125-year-lease for Penarth Pier Pavilion) has also announced the appointment two locally-based Vice Presidents,

Two Penarth Arts and Crafts Vice-presidents have also been appointed ; TV Presenter Frances Donavan and former chairman Paul Twamley

They are former PACL chairman  Paul Twamley (who lives in Penarth but is currently working in Dubai) and well-known TV sports presenter Frances Donovan.

The president and vice presidents are not directors of the company and will not sit on the board of trustees.

    Not-for-profit charitable company? Oh really, o’reilly! Charity begins at home, not in the corporate world.

    Annual turnover for this “not for profit company” is: is £6.5 million or more. If your gonna make a statement publicly, at least learn to qualify it………….
