The Penarth-based agency “Care in the Vale Ltd” is moving out of its shop in Royal Buildings in Stanwell Road, Penarth (opposite Penarth Town Council’s HQ) and is moving to Barry instead .
The retail shop premises, which the charity rents, is being advertised to let by the estate agents E J Hales because of the re-location .
Care in the Vale Ltd provides care services to 100 people in their own homes, including elderly clients, people with physical disabilities, people with sensory loss/impairment, people with learning disabilities and “mentally infirm” clients.
In April 2015 the Welsh care industry watchdog – the Care and Social Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) – found what it called “areas of non-compliance” when it carried out an inspection of the firm .
In September 2015, in a subsequent inspection, the firm was said to be “compliant” . The CSSIW found that the charitable company provided “care which was valued by the people” but inspectors also ”identified areas where improvement was required”.
A further inspection of Care in the Vale is “pending“.
