The new bakery / bistro will be at the northern end of the ground floor of Beachcliff

Work is progressing rapidly to fit-out at a hitherto empty ground floor retail unit at Beachcliff  on Penarth Esplanade.

PDN sources say the new business is to be a new bistro  which is to be combined with a bakery and is understood to be being developed by Beachcliff developer Richard Hayward.

Although it’s next-door-but-one to the Michelin Star  Restaurant James Sommerin  the bistro is being designed to provide a different retail offer from the renowned restaurant and its boutique hotel .

The shop-fitting operation is set to be completed by within a few weeks and the new business is set to open in the New Year if not before.

The name of the new business has not yet been released

I like the sound of a bakery. Hope it’s quite ‘French’ and sells things you can eat going up and down the prom.

  2. Ann Other says:

    Could the name be ‘Rabiotti’s’?

  3. johnm says:

bet it’s Rabbiotti’s – Cafe R as they sometimes are.
