A big portable power generator is running in Robinswood Crescent to maintain power supplies to local homes

There have been power cuts in the St Paul’s Avenue area of Penarth this morning and a major power-line  excavation is in progress in Robinswood Crescent.

Several properties are in the St Paul’s Avenue area lost power at 06:00 this morning . Western Power distribution says they are aiming  to have electricity restored there by 11:00.

Meanwhile a huge portable generator has been installed in Robinswood Crescent to maintain supplies to local homes whilst engineers repair faulty underground cables.

A large hole has been excavated in a grass verge – bringing to light not only the faulty electricity cable but also other pipes which appear to be fractured.

It’s the second time in recent weeks the big generator has been set-up in Robinswood Crescent because of persistent power problems in the area. It’s understood that no houses here have lost power.
