The Penarth-based South Wales Fire and Rescue crew on the scene tonight at Llwyn Passat in Penarth Marina

Three fire crews including one from Penarth and two from Cardiff were called to a house fire at Llwyn Passat, in Penarth Marina this evening

The fire was confined to the ground floor of the dwelling and South Wales Fire and Rescue reports that no-one was injured.

At one time the two-storey building was reported to be “well alight” but that everyone in the house had been taken to safety.

It took 90 minutes to extinguish the blaze. The crews who used four sets of breathing apparatus and deployed two thermal imaging cameras to see through the dense smoke.

One fire crew is still on the scene ventilating the smoke-logged interior of the £400,000 property which overlooks the Marina’s Inner Basin.

  3. I think the area is cold in appearance and strange plus it is almost bereft of and plant life , not a price id pay £400, 000 or anything remotely close , and it would be the last place id want to live, even if they paid me.

    Someone’s house catches fire and some people are more bothered by PDN’s valuation of the property! Christopher and Andrew – do you really need to be so unsympathetic? No one is forcing you to buy the house and live there you know!!!

    The article prompted me to check my smoke alarms (one in every room now due to the plethora of electrical stuff these days).

    Two failed to work, one of them needs renewing.
