TV producer Jim Rich has re-assembled his talented troupe of troubadours –  recruited from the streets, shops, businesses and back offices of Penarth  – recruited lots of new members – and last night launched a Penarth Christmas Special pop-video on  the world-wide internet service YouTube .

Jim’s last Penarth video – which went “viral” in November was set to  “Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Justin Timberlake and was in classy black and white. (If you missed that one see http://tinyurl.com/jmnsao9 ).

An impressive synchronised juggling act by Umpa Lumpa - until his Santa hat falls off

There’s an  impressive synchronised sweet-juggling act by Philip Rees of The Olde Sweet Shoppe  at Penarth Pier – until, that is,  his Santa hat falls off

This new video, which hit the screens last night, is in full colour and is set to Phil Spector’s Ronettes rendition of “Sleighride” .

Although we’re still waiting for the necessary snow – that hasn’t stopped local businesses dropping tools , donning Santa hats and joining in the fun.

Whoever  thought the team at Tony’s pizzeria were so talented? And who could have guessed that the people behind Northern Star jewellery, Penarth Tyres, Chez Francis, Penarth View, Lazarou Brothers (despite having had their Santa silenced by the council) ,  Puravia , the Crepe Escape,  seabreeze Homes,  Evans Entwistle,  Tros Cynnal  Plant,  and  The Fig Tree Restaurant were such lovely movers?

And Who knew that Penarth estate agent David Baker and his staff could strut their stuff like that in Station Approach?

And fans of the previous video won’t be disappointed that some retailers are delivering encore performances . No doubt by overwhelming public demand, the team at David Lush the Butchers and of course Foxy’s Delicatessen all get their five seconds of fame .

To see and hear the video, just press the arrow play button on the picture below – and prepared to be – well –  very surprised.
