Every parking slot on the Penarth sea-front was occupied again today as hundreds of visitors and probably several local residents too – took advantage of the mid-day sunshine for a constitutional stroll along the Esplanade.

Many people have evidently taken the whole of this week off work  –  and if they weren’t out strolling in the sun, they were busy shopping in bustling Penarth town-centre or trying to find bargains in the sales in crowded Cardiff.

Despite the brisk temperatures many people sat outside with coffee and even ice cream

Continuing a run of family films, the Pier Pavilion Cinema was showing today “ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.

All the restaurants and ice-cream outlets on Penarth Esplanade seemed to be doing a roaring trade  – as they have for previous two days of the current spell of calm weather –  during which bright sunshine, but brisk air-temperatures, have been the order of the day.
