Parents of pupils  at Albert Primary School have been informed that the death has occurred of the school’s headmaster Mr Huw Jones.

The parents  have been sent emails by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s  director of  learning and skills Pamela Ham – who said that pupils would be informed and “counselling” will be available for children and staff.

The school remains open but parents were given leave to take their children out of school if they wished.

Meanwhile South Wales Police have said  “We are investigating the sudden death of a 51-year-old man, whose body was discovered in Fort Road, Lavernock, on Wednesday, February 1. The man’s next of kin has been informed and a file of evidence is being prepared for HM Coroner.”

Police have yet to confirm the identity of the dead man .
