The car ablaze in Park Road, Penarth earlier today

Penarth firefighters were called out to a car which was totally burned out in Park Road Penarth earlier today .

The incident occurred in the road outside the site of the new house which is currently under construction for world-famous singer Rebecca Evans but has no connection with Ms Evans or her family.

The dramatic images of the blazing vehicle were taken as the fire crew moved in with extinguishers to blanket the flames.

The car – a 1995  Volkswagen saloon – was totally gutted before the outbreak could be brought under control.

    I bet they’re tamping on Marine Parade – Park Road being called Penarth’s most exclusive street but I’ve always thought that too, despite all those nasty little modern houses to spoil it.
