  1. Anne Greagsby says:

The green party candidate for St Augustine’s ward lives in Barry and is the only candidate who doesn’t live in Penarth! So much for ‘shopping’ locally!?

    • Tom S says:

Pot calling kettle black… According to the electoral roll, You live with your Son Brendan Curran at Bromley Drive, Cardiff. People in ely houses shouldn’t throw stones.

    • DRT Andrews says:

Ms Greagsby, your chances of election would be better served by answering the questions directed at you on here, rather than sniping at another candidate.

      • Phil says:

Well said. That’s all Ms Greagsby is capable of by the looks of it. Anyone else fed up of seeing/hearing her slagging off other parties/candidates instead of giving us any credible and valid reason why to vote for her? I have a feeling you’re going to be embarrassed come the election results

      • Anne Greagsby says:

So its ok to snipe at me? As I have said before I LIVE in Penarth. I am on the electoral roll in Penarth or I couldn’t be a candidate. FACT. If you look on the Vale of Glamorgan website there is a list of candidates with their addresses and you can see there that I live in St Augustines ward Penarth at 3 Penarth Head Lane and the green candidate for St Augustines lives in Barry. Would you like to pop round to check?.

      • DRT Andrews says:

I won’t pop round to check because I accept your assurance. What about your views on public expenditure in support of the Welsh language?

  3. Arthur King says:

Will candidates still ‘live’ in Penarth after the election particularly in not elected?

    • Geraint Jones says:

Hi Arthur, I live in Penarth and will remain in Penarth whether elected or not. Thanks, Geraint (Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate for Plymouth ward).

  4. Is it legal for members of the First Independents party to call themselves Independents? If so a change in law is required.

    • John64 says:

Martin. A very good question and one that, perhaps I can part answer.
When it comes to elections the use of the word “Party” is governed by electoral law. The independents ‘description’ (to quote the nomination papers) does not use the word. To use “Party” as a ‘description’ the party name (and any associated emblem) has to be registered with the Electoral Commission. It is the press and others that are tagging “party” – the so called Independents might be or not be in breach of electoral law but they could be open to challenge. Hope this helps.

  5. Richie Griffiths says:

Can anyone tell me why the “Putting Penarth First” party are only contesting the Plymouth Ward?
