The illuminated sign of the Paramount restaurant in Station Approach, Penarth

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has launched an Enforcement Investigation into new illuminated signage which has been installed at the well known Paramount curry restaurant in Station Approach, Penarth.

  1. JTR69 says:

I think it looks very swish.

  2. OB says:

Considering the abysmal and unimaginative appearance of Station Approach, I would have thought the Vale council could find better ways to spend the taxpayers’ money.

  3. I think it looks totally out of place however I’m sure that Barry will leave it as it is.

  4. Peter Church says:

Looks great, if ETC can get away with the bling and lights and pavement clutter, then I see no problem here.

  5. Tom says:

Why is everywhere trying to look like some hideous chav eaterie in Dubai?

  6. Tony Harris says:

Planning rules and regs are there for a reason otherwise it’s a free for all. It looks ok to me but I wonder what Mo makes of it. Did the Paramount apply for permission to
erect this sign or not. I assume we will learn more once investigated.

  7. Matt says:

Did I catch this place on a bad day the first, and only, time I visited? The food was so bland. Always happy to give somewhere a second chance though.

    • Adam H says:

Please do give it another chance, I’ve enjoyed every meal at this eatery.

      • Sarah JBW says:

I agree with Adam H. I’ve always enjoyed excellent food and very attentive service. It’s also reasonably priced. Sign looks OK to me.

  8. AK says:

The lighting and signage looks superb, and at least does not block the pavement.

Hopefully the VOG will see sense and allow the sign to remain – unless the planners are running out of things to do.

  9. Dan says:

No wonder that cinema closed down. That’s all people are interested in here – stuffing their chops.
