Welsh-speaking Bill Rees – Conservative candidate for the parliamentary constituency of Cardiff South and Penarth – is aiming to help small businesses in Penarth

Welsh-speaking business executive Bill Rees [who as PDN reported last month has been  selected as the Welsh Conservative Party candidate for Cardiff South & Penarth for the General Election]  – has said his campaign will focus on jobs-growth, getting behind local businesses and making Brexit a success for the constituency .

Mr Rees, who has already begun campaigning in Penarth, says “As your MP, I would use my strong Welsh roots and extensive experience of international business negotiation to get the best possible deal for Cardiff South & Penarth so that the people and businesses here can flourish.”

He says “Only Theresa May offers the country the strong and stable leadership required at this time to get the best possible deal with the EU and new trade deals with new global partners around the world.“

Mr Rees was born and raised on a family-run dairy farm in West Wales and  was the first in his family to go to university.  He and his wife Jo have two children and he is a fluent Welsh speaker. His mother and sister live in the Vale of Glamorgan – in Barry .

He studied economics at Warwick and Cambridge Universities before working in the city and now heads up a commercial team in the FTSE 100 company Centrica .

    Stephen Doughty must be delighted to have “Utility- Bill” Rees as an opponent.

    Average Household Income in Cardiff South and Penarth is £24500 with typically 2-3 Earners per home.(Source Ask Cardiff.com)

    Pensioner Households in Cardiff South and Penarth around half that.at £12000 p.a.

    Mr. Rees’ Boss earns £4.5 Million a year as CEO of CENTRICA-BRITISH GAS and does not support Capping Fuel Bills according to The Independent article 25 4 17.

    The question is does “Utility-Bill” want to Cap Pensioners Fuel Bills and fight fuel poverty or not??

    Who is he supporting Teresa May and Jeremy Corbyn who do want a cap or his multi millionaire Boss Mr. Conn?

    Come on Mr. Rees have that debate with Stephen Doughty on rocketing Energy Prices from CENTRICA -BRITISH GAS and Fuel Poverty.
