A newly re-furbished golf shop has been opened this week at the Glamorganshire Golf Club in Penarth by newly-appointed head professional Matthew Dearden
The new Pro Shop stocks all the latest products from the major manufacturers and there’s also a high-tech golf simulator which will enable visitors and members to try their hand at playing a virtual hole or a complete at some of the most famous golf courses in the world.
The Glamorganshire Golf Club is the oldest inland course in Wales and is the birthplace of the Stableford scoring system. It hosted the 2015 Welsh Team Golf Championships and is highly regarded as one of the best Clubs around and welcomes new applications for membership.
Matthew Dearden says “I am delighted with the response from Members and overwhelmed by the level of support I have received on opening. It was great see so many new faces and I look forward to working with everyone to ensure a successful future for the Golf Club.”
Congratulating Matthew, men’s captain Peter “Jammy” James said, “We are thrilled to have secured the services of Matthew and look forward to many happy and successful years. The Pro Shop facilities are now second-to-none”.
General Manager Russell Thomas added, “Here at the Glamorganshire, we strive to provide an excellent service and the newly refurbished Pro Shop will enhance the welcome and experience that we give to all Members, guests and visitors.”
