VALE INTERNET LINKS FAIL AT ST CYRES SCHOOL

St Cyres Secondary School in Penarth is understood to be one of the schools affected

A number of Vale of Glamorgan Council internet services are reported to have failed today – including  internet services for staff and pupils at St Cyres Secondary School in Penarth.

The council is said to have issued a note saying “Due to equipment failure beyond our control, network connectivity is affecting the following sites :-

  • Whitemore High School
  • Pencoedtre High School
  • St Cyres Comprehensive
  • Ysgol Y Deri
  • Flying Start (Skomer Road)
  • Dinas Powys Library

It’s yet not known whether any other Vale Council sites in Penarth have been affected.

Council IT staff say “It seems we have had a piece of network equipment fail at the Recycling Centre due to water ingress in an outside network cabinet. An urgent call has been raised for the third party engineers to attend and resolve.”
